Terms of Service

The agreement between you and WeReportYourRent.

Last updated: May 28, 2026

This document is a working draft and should be reviewed by qualified legal counsel before public launch.

1. Acceptance of Terms

These Terms of Service ("Terms") form a binding agreement between you ("you," "your," "Customer") and WeReportYourRent ("WeReportYourRent," "we," "us," "our").

By creating an account, clicking "Start $1 Trial," or using any part of our website or service, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the service.

You should read these Terms in full. The most important sections — particularly Section 3 (Trial & Billing), Section 9 (No Credit Guarantee), and Section 12 (Arbitration) — affect your legal rights.

2. Account Eligibility

To create an account you must:

  • Be at least 18 years old and able to enter a binding contract under U.S. law;
  • Be a current U.S. resident with a valid U.S. mailing address;
  • Have a current rental agreement (lease) for which you are the named tenant or co-tenant;
  • Provide accurate, complete identity information (name, date of birth, address, phone, email); the full-SSN identity step is handled directly inside Array.com's embedded component on your dashboard;
  • Use a valid payment method in your own name.

One account per person. We may suspend or close any account we reasonably believe has been opened with false information, used to commit fraud, or used to report rent the account holder does not actually pay.

3. The 7-Day $1.00 Trial & Recurring Billing

Plain-English Summary

  • Today, you will be charged $1.00 as a non-refundable Trial Activation Fee. This starts your 7-day trial of WeReportYourRent.
  • Your trial ends on {{TRIAL_END_DATE}}. On that date, your subscription will automatically begin and your selected plan rate ($19.99/month for Basic or $39.99/month for Premium) will be charged to the payment method on file.
  • Your subscription will renew automatically every month at the same rate until you cancel.
  • You can cancel at any time from your dashboard or by emailing support@wereportyourrent.com. If you cancel before {{TRIAL_END_DATE}}, you will not be charged the monthly subscription rate — only the original $1.00 Trial Activation Fee.

3.1 What You Are Agreeing To

By completing signup and clicking the "Start $1 Trial" (or equivalent) button, you authorize WeReportYourRent and its payment processor (Stripe) to:

  • Charge your payment method $1.00 USD today as a one-time, non-refundable Trial Activation Fee. This fee is what unlocks your 7-day trial of the service and pays for the work we do during the trial (identity verification, lease verification, and bureau onboarding).
  • Begin a 7-day trial period starting on the date your payment is processed. During the trial you have full access to the features of the plan you selected.
  • On the 8th day after your payment is processed (i.e., the day after {{TRIAL_END_DATE}}), automatically begin your paid subscription and charge the monthly rate for the plan you selected.
  • Continue to charge your payment method every month thereafter, on or around the same calendar day, until you cancel.

3.2 Your Selected Plan & Rate

The amount you will be charged after the trial depends on the plan you selected at signup:

Plan Today After {{TRIAL_END_DATE}} Billing Cycle
Basic $1.00 $19.99 Monthly, auto-renew
Premium $1.00 $39.99 Monthly, auto-renew

All amounts are in U.S. Dollars. Prices do not include any state or local taxes that may apply.

3.3 How to Cancel Before You Are Charged the Monthly Rate

To avoid being charged the monthly subscription rate, you must cancel before {{TRIAL_END_DATE}}. You can cancel in either of these ways:

  • From your dashboard: log in at wereportyourrent.com/login, open the Billing section, and click "Cancel Subscription."
  • By email: send a cancellation request to support@wereportyourrent.com from the email address on your account. Please send it at least 24 hours before {{TRIAL_END_DATE}} to give us time to process it.

You will receive a confirmation email once your cancellation is processed. If you do not receive a confirmation, please contact us — your cancellation is not effective until it is confirmed.

3.4 The $1.00 Trial Fee Is Non-Refundable

The $1.00 Trial Activation Fee is non-refundable, even if you cancel during the trial. This fee covers the identity-verification, lease-verification, and bureau-onboarding work we perform as soon as you sign up.

3.5 Failed Payments

If the initial $1.00 charge fails, your trial will not start and your account will not be activated. If a renewal charge fails after the trial, we will retry the charge up to three times over five days. If all retries fail, your subscription will be paused and we will stop reporting new payments to bureaus until billing is restored.

3.6 Price Changes

We may change our subscription pricing in the future. If we do, we will notify you by email at least 30 days before the new price takes effect, and you will have the opportunity to cancel before being charged the new rate.

4. Cancellation & Refunds

You can cancel your subscription at any time from your dashboard or by emailing support. There are no cancellation fees or long-term contracts.

What happens when you cancel:

  • Your access to the service continues until the end of your current billing period.
  • We stop furnishing new rent-payment data to credit bureaus on the cancellation date. Payments already reported remain on your credit report per the bureaus' standard retention rules (typically up to 7 years for closed tradelines).
  • You will not be charged again after the period you have already paid for ends.

Refunds:

  • The $1.00 Trial Activation Fee is non-refundable (see Section 3.4).
  • Monthly subscription fees are non-refundable for the period in which you cancel; however, you keep service access through the end of that billing period.
  • If you believe you were charged in error (for example, a duplicate charge or a charge after a confirmed cancellation), email billing@wereportyourrent.com within 60 days and we will review and refund verified errors.

5. Subscription Plans & Pricing

WeReportYourRent currently offers two plans:

  • Basic — $19.99/month after trial. Rent reporting to TransUnion and Equifax, monthly score updates, and standard support.
  • Premium — $39.99/month after trial. Reporting to all three bureaus (Experian, Equifax, TransUnion), in-app dispute filing, 24 months of back-reporting (subject to landlord verification), and priority support.

You can upgrade or downgrade your plan at any time from your dashboard. Upgrades take effect immediately and are prorated; downgrades take effect at the start of the next billing period.

7. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Provide false or misleading information about your identity, your tenancy, or your rent payments;
  • Use the service to report rent you do not actually pay, or to report on a lease where you are not a tenant;
  • Use someone else's payment method without their authorization;
  • Attempt to access another user's account, dashboard, or data;
  • Scrape, reverse-engineer, or attempt to extract source code from the service;
  • Use the service in any way that violates federal, state, or local law, including the FCRA.

We may suspend or terminate accounts we reasonably believe have violated these rules, and we may report fraud to bureaus, law enforcement, and Stripe.

8. Intellectual Property

The WeReportYourRent name, logo, website, software, copy, design, and underlying technology are owned by WeReportYourRent and are protected by U.S. copyright, trademark, and other intellectual-property laws.

You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the service for its intended purpose while your subscription is active. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works of any part of the service without our prior written permission.

You retain ownership of the content you upload (such as your lease document). By uploading it, you grant us a license to use it solely to provide the service.

9. Disclaimers & No Credit Guarantee

We do not guarantee any specific credit-score outcome. Credit scores depend on many factors that are outside our control, including your existing credit history, your other tradelines, the bureau and scoring model used, and your overall financial behavior. Adding on-time rent reporting helps many people, but results vary.

The service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that reported data will be reflected on every bureau report by a specific date. Reporting cycles depend on the bureaus' own update schedules.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, in no event will WeReportYourRent, its officers, employees, or affiliates be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including lost profits, lost data, or damage to your credit, arising out of or related to your use of the service.

Our total liability to you for any claim arising out of these Terms or the service is limited to the greater of (a) the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim, or (b) $100.

Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of certain warranties or the limitation of certain damages, so some of the above limitations may not apply to you.

11. Indemnification

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless WeReportYourRent and its officers, employees, and affiliates from any claim, demand, loss, or expense (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising out of (a) your breach of these Terms, (b) your violation of any law or third-party right, or (c) your submission of false or misleading information to the service.

12. Dispute Resolution & Arbitration

Please read this section carefully — it affects your legal rights.

Any dispute, claim, or controversy arising out of or relating to these Terms or the service will be resolved by binding individual arbitration administered by the American Arbitration Association (AAA) under its Consumer Arbitration Rules, rather than in court, with the following exceptions:

  • Either party may bring an individual claim in small-claims court.
  • Either party may seek injunctive relief in court for misuse of intellectual property.

You and WeReportYourRent agree to bring claims only in an individual capacity, not as a plaintiff or class member in any class, consolidated, or representative action.

30-Day Opt-Out: You may opt out of this arbitration agreement by emailing legal@wereportyourrent.com within 30 days of creating your account, with the subject line "Arbitration Opt-Out" and your full name and account email in the body.

13. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, without regard to its conflict-of-laws principles, except that the Federal Arbitration Act governs Section 12 (Arbitration). The FCRA and other applicable federal consumer-protection laws continue to apply regardless of this choice of law.

14. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make a material change, we will notify you by email and post the updated Terms here with a new "Last updated" date. Your continued use of the service after the update means you accept the new Terms. If you do not agree, you may cancel your subscription before the new Terms take effect.
