Disclaimers & Disclosures

Important things to understand before you sign up.

Last updated: May 28, 2026

This document is a working draft and should be reviewed by qualified legal counsel before public launch.

No Credit Score Guarantee

WeReportYourRent does not guarantee any specific credit-score outcome, point increase, or approval result with any lender.

Credit scores are calculated by the credit bureaus and scoring-model providers (FICO, VantageScore, etc.) using many factors that are entirely outside our control, including but not limited to:

  • Your existing payment history on other credit accounts;
  • Your credit utilization across revolving accounts;
  • The length and mix of your existing credit history;
  • Hard inquiries from other lenders;
  • Public records, collections, bankruptcies, or charge-offs on your file;
  • The specific scoring model the lender uses (different lenders use different models);
  • Bureau-specific data variations.

Adding positive, on-time rent payments to your credit file is a recognized credit-building strategy and helps many of our members, but individual results vary widely. Some members may see significant score improvements; others may see modest, negligible, or no improvement, depending on the factors above.

Not Financial, Legal, or Tax Advice

All content on this website — including blog posts, dashboard insights, AI assistant replies, score simulators, and educational materials — is provided for informational and educational purposes only. It is not, and should not be construed as:

  • Financial advice — we are not a registered investment adviser or broker-dealer;
  • Legal advice — we are not a law firm and do not provide legal services;
  • Tax advice — we are not certified public accountants or tax preparers;
  • Credit counseling — we are not a credit-counseling agency under federal or state law;
  • Debt-relief or debt-settlement services.

If you need professional advice regarding your specific situation, please consult a qualified financial advisor, attorney, CPA, or HUD-approved credit counselor.

Testimonials & Average Results

Testimonials, screenshots, success stories, and case studies displayed on our website represent individual member experiences. They are not promises, guarantees, or typical results.

When we cite an average score increase (for example, "average 60-point boost"), that figure represents the average across members of our platform who met specific reporting and tenure criteria during the measurement period. Your individual result is likely to differ — possibly substantially — based on your starting credit profile and the factors listed in the section above.

All testimonials are voluntarily provided by real members. We may compensate selected members with a free month of service in exchange for the use of their story; where this applies it is disclosed in the testimonial.

Bureau Reporting Timing

We submit your verified, on-time rent payments to credit bureaus through our reporting partner (Array.com) on a monthly cycle. The bureaus, not WeReportYourRent, control when reported data is reflected on your consumer credit file.

  • Bureau processing typically takes 5–45 days after submission, depending on the bureau and the specific scoring model.
  • A reported tradeline may not be visible on every credit-monitoring product simultaneously — different products refresh on different schedules.
  • Some lenders use older or proprietary scoring models that may not weight rental tradelines.

We make no representation about when, or whether, any specific lender or scoring product will reflect the data we report.

24-Month Lookback Reporting

Our 24-month lookback feature, when offered, reports up to two years of past rent payments to credit bureaus in a single initial submission. This feature is subject to:

  • Landlord verification. We must be able to independently verify each prior month with your landlord or property manager. Months we cannot verify will not be reported.
  • Bureau acceptance. Bureaus may reject historical entries that conflict with existing data on your file.
  • Documentation requirements. You may be asked to upload prior lease documents, bank statements, or payment receipts.

Score impact from lookback reporting varies and is not guaranteed.

Identity & SSN Monitoring Limits

Our Identity and SSN Monitoring feature scans dark-web marketplaces, leaked credential databases, and a curated list of data-broker sites for matches against your personal information.

Important limitations:

  • We cannot scan every site, source, or data set on the internet. New leaks and breach databases appear constantly.
  • We do not prevent identity theft from occurring — we alert you to potential exposure so you can take protective action.
  • We are not an identity-theft insurance product. Identity-theft insurance, where offered, is provided by separate third-party insurers under their own terms.
  • Automated data-broker removal requests (where offered to Premium members) are submitted in good faith; brokers may decline, take time, or re-add information.

This feature is provided as a security supplement, not a replacement for vigilance, multi-factor authentication, strong passwords, or freezing your credit with the bureaus directly.

Credit Dispute Outcomes

Premium members may file credit-bureau disputes through our platform. We draft, submit, and follow up on disputes on your behalf, but we do not control the outcome of any dispute. The decision to investigate, correct, update, or reject a dispute lies entirely with the bureau and the data furnisher under the Fair Credit Reporting Act.

Filing a dispute does not guarantee removal or modification of any item on your credit file. Bureau investigation timelines are governed by 15 U.S.C. § 1681i (typically 30 days, extendable to 45 days in some cases).

Third-Party Services

We rely on the following third-party services to deliver our product:

  • Stripe — payment processing
  • Twilio — SMS verification codes
  • Array.com — bureau credentialing, reporting, and credit-data SDK
  • Experian, Equifax, TransUnion — consumer reporting agencies
  • Cloudflare — hosting, security, and DDoS protection
  • Plaid (where offered) — secure bank-account verification

Each of these services is governed by its own terms of service and privacy policy. We are not responsible for the conduct, outages, security breaches, or data-handling practices of third-party providers, except as required by applicable law and our agreements with them. Disclosed partner logos and names are the trademarks of their respective owners.

Eligibility & Tenancy Requirements

Our service is available only to:

  • Adults aged 18 or older;
  • Legal U.S. residents with a valid U.S. mailing address;
  • Individuals who are the named tenant or co-tenant on a current, written residential lease.

We do not currently support sub-tenants who are not named on a lease, commercial leases, hotel or short-term rental stays, room-rental arrangements without a written lease, owner-occupied housing, or rent-to-own contracts. Eligibility requirements may change as we expand our product.

Fees, Trial, & Refunds

You will be charged $1.00 today as a non-refundable Trial Activation Fee. Your 7-day trial begins immediately. On day 8, your selected subscription plan begins automatically and is billed at $19.99/month (Basic) or $39.99/month (Premium) until you cancel. Full terms are in our Terms of Service §3.

The $1.00 Trial Activation Fee is non-refundable. Monthly subscription fees are non-refundable for the period in which you cancel; access continues through the end of that paid period. We refund verified billing errors (such as duplicate charges or charges after a confirmed cancellation) upon request within 60 days.

Service Availability

We make reasonable efforts to keep the service available 24/7, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted availability. We may need to take parts of the service offline for maintenance, upgrades, or in response to a security incident. We may also restrict access in jurisdictions where our service is not licensed or where federal or state regulators require us to do so.

We are not liable for any loss caused by service downtime, planned or unplanned, except as required by applicable law.

Marketing Claims & Forward-Looking Statements

Statements on this website about future product capabilities, integrations, pricing, partnerships, or expansion plans are forward-looking statements. They reflect our current intent at the time of publication and are subject to change at any time without notice. They are not contractual commitments.

Headline numbers (such as average score gains, member counts, or processing times) are based on internal platform data over a specific measurement period and may not represent current results.

Affiliate & Referral Compensation

Some product recommendations or financial offers shown on your dashboard (for example, pre-qualified credit cards or loan offers) may result in WeReportYourRent receiving compensation from the issuer if you apply and are approved. This compensation does not influence which offers are shown to you — match logic is based solely on your credit profile via Array.com.

Our referral program pays $10 per qualifying referred subscriber. This is paid by WeReportYourRent, not by the referred person. Referral payouts are subject to the terms in our Terms of Service and applicable tax reporting (Form 1099-NEC where required).

Security & No Absolute Protection

We take reasonable, industry-standard steps to protect your data — including HTTPS / TLS 1.3 encryption, PBKDF2 password hashing with per-user salts, PCI DSS Level 1 payment processing via Stripe, FCRA-compliant data handling, and append-only audit logging. Identity verification (including any Social Security Number entry) is performed entirely inside Array.com's embedded web component and never passes through WeReportYourRent's servers. See our Compliance page for details.

No security system is absolute. We cannot guarantee that unauthorized parties will never gain access to data, that our service is invulnerable to attack, or that all errors will be detected. If we become aware of a breach affecting your data, we will notify you in accordance with applicable state and federal breach-notification laws.

Marketing Pixels & Visitor Analytics

To understand how visitors find and use our site — and to measure the effectiveness of our advertising — we collect first-party analytics and, when configured, load a small number of third-party marketing tags. Full technical details are in our Privacy Policy § Cookies & Tracking; the following summarizes what to expect:

First-Party Visitor Analytics

We log aggregated, privacy-preserving signals about your visit, including the pages you view, scroll depth, time on page, and clicks on calls-to-action. We assign an anonymous visitor identifier (the wryr_vid cookie) so we can count unique visitors without identifying you personally. We do not store your raw IP address; instead, we hash it together with a daily-rotating salt for bot detection and abuse mitigation only.

Visitor → Account Linkage

If you create an account, we associate your prior anonymous visitor identifier with your user record so we can understand which marketing channels drive sign-ups. You may request deletion of this linkage under the rights described in our Privacy Policy § Your Rights.

Exit-Intent Email Capture

If you appear to be leaving our marketing pages without signing up — for example, by moving your mouse toward the browser tab bar on desktop, scrolling back up after scrolling down on mobile, or switching to a different browser tab — we may show a one-time modal offering a free credit-building guide in exchange for your email address. Submission is entirely optional. By submitting your email, you consent to receive occasional educational emails about rent reporting and credit building. Every such email includes a one-click unsubscribe link that takes effect immediately. If you dismiss the modal without submitting, we will not show it again for 7 days.

Third-Party Marketing Pixels (Conditional)

On our marketing pages (the home page and pricing page only — never on dashboard, admin, profile, checkout, signup, or landlord-portal pages), we may load the following third-party tags when we have configured them for an active advertising campaign:

  • Meta Pixel (Facebook/Instagram) — sends Meta a page-view signal. If you later submit an email through our exit-intent modal or complete signup, we send Meta a SHA-256 hash of your email address for ad-conversion matching ("Advanced Matching"). We never send your raw email or any other personal data to Meta.
  • Google Ads remarketing tag (gtag.js, loaded with anonymize_ip: true) — sends Google a page-view signal. If you submit an email or sign up, we send Google a SHA-256 hash of your email for Enhanced Conversions matching. We never send your raw email.

Both pixels respect your browser's Do Not Track setting — if your browser sends DNT, we will not load these tags for you. You can also block them at the browser, extension (uBlock Origin, Privacy Badger, Ghostery), or device level without affecting any core site functionality. We never load these pixels on logged-in pages, payment pages, or any page where you are entering personal or financial information.

We do not sell your personal information to advertisers, data brokers, or any third party. We do not use these tags to build a behavioral profile of you across unrelated websites. Their sole purpose is to measure whether our advertising is working and to reach people who have visited us before with relevant follow-up ads.

Items We Have Chosen Not To Use

To be transparent: we have evaluated, and are not currently using, the following common marketing technologies: reverse-IP B2B identification (e.g., Clearbit Reveal, RB2B), and third-party person-level identity-resolution graphs (e.g., LiveRamp). If we ever adopt these in the future, we will update this section and our Privacy Policy before doing so.

Changes to These Disclaimers

We may update these disclaimers from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. For material changes, we will notify active subscribers by email at least 30 days before the change takes effect.
